Story line: Marriages are made in heaven! Though the road to heaven might be a little “tedha”. Meet ‘Manu’, a seedha saadha Doctor from London. Intelligent, temperate and from a respectable family, the perfect groom which every parent wants for their daughter. ‘Family pressure’ leads him to Kanpur to meet Tanu the quintessential small town girl who has studied in Delhi. Tanu is a smart, intelligent girl who will do everything that her parents will disapprove. With a mind of her own and a love for rebellion, Tanu is dead against an arranged marriage. But destiny holds something totally different for these dramatically diverse personalities. Their paths keep crossing time and again and weave this wonderful story through the Indian heartland.

My Gut Feel and comments :  Anand L Rai the director of the movie had earlier directed Thodi Life Thoda Magic and Strangers which were a failure however this time with well edited interesting promos at least his movie Tanu Weds Manu is creating buzz which  would definitely lead to decent opening at box office Himanshu Sharma is débuting  with this film as a writer and story line seems to be interesting. North Indian flavor also goes in favor of the movie. With low budget and being under dog I presume that this movie would do reasonably good business with some decent performances from lead actors R. Madhavan and  Kangna Ranaut. I would give Tanu weds Manu 3 starts out of 5 and would look forward to its release.

    REVIEW
    TANU WEDS MANU :

I have seen the movie on first day date night show and it was definitely not a waste of time as I predicted in my Preview.

Although movies revolves around the combined plot of JAB WE MET and Hum Dil de chuke sanam however treatment is different with sensible humour.

    High Points :

1.First half of the movie is fantastic. With some great hilarious moments.

    2. Music is good and engaging.

    3. Madhavan is good and Kangna is different.

    Low Points :
    1. Second half is week and dragged at most of the places.
    2. Script is erratic and in second half writers looks like short of ideas and even direction is week.
    3. No background given of Kangana's wild character which some time looks over done as a girl from well educated U.P. family talking and behaving irregular all the time some times looks baseless. As compare to this Character of Kareena in Jab we met was also wild however still there was a grace and character was well defined.

Over all its a good entertainer and would have been better if cut short by 20 minutes in second half. I would still persist to my 3 out of 5 rating for this movie and recommended to watch.
