My Gut Feel (MGF) and comments:
Is adult entertainment killing our children? or is killing our children entertaining our adults? — Marilyn Manson
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan can be considered as a one of its kind brave attempt which raises few straight forward questions to not so straight forward mass audience. What makes Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan stand out against films like Aligarh (2016) and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019) is its potential to reach much larger audience as any socially relevant message wrapped up with humour intelligently keeping the core in place is potentially impactful against as the similar work which is intense and serious. Success of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is the testimony of it where a sensitive subject handled very well in possibly entertaing manner. Create team of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is more or less same which delivered Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Where Aanand L. Rai produced it and debutant director Hitesh Kewalya for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan written the screenplay and dialogues for the previous film. Editing for both the films is done by Ninad Khanolkar. In one of the interview Hitesh emphasised on importance of humor and entertainment where is expressed his strong believe that audience comes to the theatre to get entertained and during the process of entertaining them if a message conveyed then purpose of Cinema is fulfilled. Complete cast staring Ayushmann Khurrana, Jitendra Kumar, Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta and other supporting cast is looking impressive and apt for the role. Film length is two hours which should work in favour of it as these sensitive subjects even with humor can go wrong and dragged specially post interval specifically in 20 to 30 minutes before climax. I am not expecting a flawless master piece however I am confident it will be an entertainer and should able to convey a serious message on lighter note.
Going by My Gut Feeling (MGF), I am giving Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan 3 stars out of 5 one week before the release and hoping that Ayushmann Khurrana’s brave heart golden run continues with this one as well.
