Know more about the captain of the Ship, the director: Saket Chaudhary originally wanted to be an engineer, but changed his focus to mass communication when he attended the University of Pune. After graduation he wrote various television series and worked as assistant director to Aziz Mirza on Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. Santosh Sivan was the cinematographer and offered Chaudhary a chance to help him write the screenplay for his upcoming film Asoka.
Chaudhary ventured into direction himself after seeing Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai. The film inspired him to pen the screenplay for his directorial debut Pyaar Ke Side Effects which became a surprise success in the multiplexes
My Gut Feel and comments:
Pyaar ke side effects was hilarious. The movie with unexpected casting of rahul bose and malika sherwat has done wonders lead by simple but effective screenplay and narration by Saket Chaudhary. This time director again casted unique pair of Farhan Akhtar and Vidhya Balan whom are intelligent performance and brings substance on screen with their sincere performances.
I am expecting a light hearted comedy with apt performances from lead actors supported well by vir das who has already proved his mettle in Delhi Belly.  I am sure first half would be swift and pacey however sensing in a way dragged second half. Over all I am sure this movie would be a onetime watch and would not be an out and out let downer.
First quarter of the New Year seems to be a dull year even good movies like highway and Hasee Toh Phasee are not able to make deserving noise at the box office which seems to be a case with shadi ke side effect as well.
The film is scheduled for release on 28 February 2014 which is also the date of India cricket team encounter with Sri lanka in Asia cup. In trade experts opinion Asia cup being played during the first week of movies release is going to effect the movies business specially match with Pakistan on first weekends Sunday is going to affect movies business.
I am giving this movie 3 stars out of 5 stars, four day before the release.
