Story line ‘I dont want to be shattered from dangers, want to be fearless while facing them’ DABANGG means Fearless. Set in Laalgurj, Uttar Pradesh, Dabangg is a story of Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan), a totally fearless but corrupt police officer with unorthodox working methods. But even the most fearless at times face a tough fight with their innermost demons. Chulbul has had a bitter childhood. His father passed away when he was young and mother Nalini (Dimple Kapadia) married Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna). Together, they had a son Makhanchan (Arbaaz Khan). Prajapati favours Makhanchan which does not go down well with Chulbul. He decides to take the control of his destiny and detaches himself from his stepfather and half brother. His sole attachment is his mother. However after his mother’s demise and an unsuccessful attempt to mend wounds, Chulbul snaps all ties with his stepfather and half brother. Rajo (Sonakshi Sinha) with her unique perspective of life enters his world and turns upside down. Chulbul starts to see life more positively and also gets sensitized to the value of a family. But his detractors especially the dubious Cheddi Singh (Sonu Sood) have their own vested interests. And emerge as spokes in the wheel, pulling one brother against the other. Makhanchan ends up carrying out acts oblivious to the consequences. When he realizes he has been used, he turns to Chulbul.
My Gut Feel and comments : After a long time I have witnessed an upcoming film promoted so aggressively which would definitely bring in first hand audience to the theaters in coming three days which would definitely give great opening to the film at box office. Salman Khan is all over the placed for promotion of the film which is a good sign. Salman’s last hit film wanted also given a boast to the moral of the star and he is looking in the same chilled out mode which he portrayed wonderfully in wanted. Salam has a great mass following which would go in favor of the movie as the plot of the movie based on U.P. I am getting positive vibes and sensing a hit although I would give 3 out for 5 stars to the movies as I am not expected to a great story with flawless screenplay however still expecting it to be a full on masala entertainer…

DABANGG is indeed an entertainer, I loved the movie. Salman rocks !
I was not expecting a great story and brilliant screenplay which went right as story is not the USP of the movie however yes Action, great music and start to finish entertainment are the USP of the movie which would definitely make it super hit.
Salman worked brilliantly, he carried out a difficult role exceptional well. I mentioned difficult role just because its a larger then life character with different shaded and easily could be over done however Salman played it with perfection and grace.
I would stick to 3 out for 5 rating however strongly recommend this massala flick which is full on paisa wasol to cine goer who love typical bollywood movie and demand for an entertainer with less sensibility however with great style and entertainment..
